Childrens leg warmers

I made these leg warmers for my niece.

The top is made by ch 9 skip the first ch and sc 8.
[Ch 1 turn, sc8 in back loop only.]
Continue from [ to ] until you reach the circumference of your child's calf.
Sl st both ends together to make a circle.

Join in a new color and Hdc in the end of each row, sl st in the first Hdc to end the round.
Hdc in same st (first st of previous round) and in each st round, sl st in first Hdc to end the round.

Continue like this until you reach the desired length.

Change color for every 4th row.

At the end I have made a row of my own kind of bobble stitch.
(Yarn over hook, through the st, pick up yarn, 3 loops on the hook, yarn over, through the st, pick up the yarn, 5 loops on the hook, yarn over, through the st, pick up yarn, 7 loops on the hook, pick up yarn and draw through all loops, make a sl st in next st)

Or make another kind of edge.
This pattern is more like guidelines, you can make this in any way you like.
You can also decrease by 1 st every 3 or 4 rows, to make the leg warmer more tight if you don't want a loose fit at the bottom.

Color changing tip:
Instead of cutting the yarn when changing color, just put the ball of yarn through the loop and pull tight.
Just leave it there until you need it again and then pick it up and make a sl st.
Fewer ends to weave in.

These I made for my little 3 year old girl.
The only difference besides the size is the end. I made 3 rounds of Hdc and decreased by 3 st in each round. That gives a tighter fit around the ankles.
