My daughter just loves tinkerbell so I just had to make this little fairy from my book of crocheted toys. I think she turned out pretty cute. The hair took forever to make but it looks great I think. The head is pretty heavy so I had to put a wooden stick inside the upper body and the head. I chose to use two pieces of felt to make the wings, to make them stiffer. The legs have metal wire so they can bend.

Crochet coasters
I saw a picture on Pinterest of some crocheted coasters with a felt star sewed on. I think they looked so cute. Would make a perfect gift. But there was no pattern, just the photo. So I started working on a pattern for the perfect flat circle with dc stitches. My biggest problem was the join. No matter what I did the join was visible. Until I found this technique:
http://www.cre8tioncrochet.com/2012/12/seamless-crochet-rounds/
Round 1: Start with a magic circle, chain 2, dc 13 into the circle, slst into top of chain 2 to end the round. (14)
Round 2: chain 2, 2 dc in the second st from the hook (leaving 1 st free) 2 dc in every st until you reach the ch 2, 2 dc in the free st (the one you skipped at the beginning) slst in top of first dc of the round. (28)
Round 3: chain 2, 2 dc in the second st from the hook (leaving 1 st free) *1dc in next st, 2 dc in next st* repeat from * to * till you reach the ch 2, 1 dc in the free st, slst in top of first dc. (42)
Cut the yarn, fasten of and weave in ends.
Cut a star out of felt and sew it on the coaster. You may want to block the coaster before you attach the star.

Crochet hook case
I found this DIY and I think it looks really cute:
http://inaina.dk/category/haekle/page/2/
Translated into English:
You start working in rows and finish by working the edge in rounds.
Row1: Make a loose chain the size that you want your case to be. The number of chains must be divisible by 8.
R2: turn and begin in the second ch from the hook. 1 sc in each st to the end.
R3: ch 1, turn, 1 sc in next st, *now you make a bubble (in next st: yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over, pull up a loop, yarn over and through all loops on the hook), sc in next 3 st* - repeat from * to * until you have 2 st left, sc in last 2 st.
R4: ch 1, turn, sc to the end.
Repeat row 3 and 4 until you reach the desired size for your case. Don't fasten of.
Crochet an edge of sc around your work. I did 3 rounds of sc. Increase by 2 in each corner.
I want my case to be closed by a button, so in one of the short ends I made a buttonhole by skipping 4 st and ch 4, sc in 5th st. Continue to sc until the end of round 3. Use a stitch marker to mark your starting point. Fasten of and weave in ends.
Now you just find your favorite fabric and make pockets for the hooks. I made mine 3 cm wide like the DIY describes. Then you can store 1 large hook or 2 small ones. You can choose to make small and big pockets if you like. Entirely up to you. I chose a thread in the same color as the yarn. Then you don't have to use invisible stitches when you attach the fabric to your crocheted piece. I just used my sewing machine.
Put all your hooks in the pockets and fold the case. Mark with a stitch marker where the button should be. Take the hooks out and sew it on. Done.

My 3 year old daughter just loves frozen, like many other little girls do. And Elsa is her favorite! She has already seen the movie like 10 times. And she plays out scenes from it. It's so cute.
So when I found this pattern I just knew that I had to make it. A perfect little morning gift for Christmas tomorrow :-)
I had a little trouble with the size. It can be my yarn or the hook that was the problem. I'm not sure. But the first hat was way too small. So I had to make a new one. I added an extra round of decreasing so I ended up with 55 st before the ribbing insted of 44. My ribbing is not as wide as in the pattern.
I used a different snowflake though, I like this one better. I couldn't get the other one to look like a snowflake, it looked like a star.
I think it turned out pretty great and she loves it! That's the most important thing :-)
Merry Christmas

Nisse/ Elf
I love Christmas, who doesn't :-)
So I got the idea to this nisse, or elf.
It's quite simple.
I just croched a cone and changed color for the hat, face and body.
Start with a magic circle.
Round 1: 3 sc into the circle.
Round 2: 2 sc in every st.
Now increase by 2 st in every round until the hat is the desired size.
Use a stitch marker to mark the beginning of the round.
Change color and do a couple of rounds in white. Keep increasing by 2 st every round.
Change color again to make the face and again to make the body. Still increasing by 2 every round. Keep going until the body is the desired size. Fasten of and cut the yarn.
Now make a circle for the bottom.
Make a magic circle
Round 1: 6 sc into the circle
Round 2: 2 sc in every st
Now increase by 6 every round.
(Round 3: 1 sc in first st 2 sc in next st 6 times. Round 4: 1 sc in first 2 st 2 sc in next st 6 times and so on)
Until the circle is big enough to cover the bottom of the cone. Leave a long tail.
Weave in all ends but the one on the circle. Stuff the cone and stitch the circle to the cone using a tapestry needle.
Make a mouth with black yarn. Eyes and buttons are made out of felt and glued on.
Enjoy :-)
